Are there a minimum number of devices or licenses that I need to purchase to qualify?
Yes – and they are different for K-12 and Higher Education organizations. Your purchases of either Google Workspace for Education Plus licenses or Chromebooks and the Chrome Education Upgrade can qualify for this promotional offer.
For qualifying Chromebook & Chrome Education Upgrade purchases:
A “New Customer” is any K-12 customer with 30 or less Chromebooks and Chrome Education Upgrade licenses deployed within their school or district. For Higher Education, a 500 license minimum order of the Chrome Education Upgrade is required to qualify.
Proof of purchase for Chrome orders (submitted via invoice or purchase order) must include an equal number of Chromebooks AND Chrome Education Upgrades.
For qualifying Google Workspace for Education Plus purchases:
For Higher Education, a 500 license minimum order of Google Workspace for Education Plus licenses is required to qualify (Chrome Education Upgrades or Google Workspace for Education Plus licenses).
Not sure if your purchases will qualify? Just ask. We are GSO experts and we can guide you.
When does GSO 2021 start and end?
Google announced the 2021 service offering on January 12, 2021. The promotional period runs through September 30th, 2021, or while available services last. Amplified IT recommends you work with us as soon as possible to ensure you can obtain all of the service credits you qualify for and you can maximize your return by scheduling a GSO insight call. Keep in mind that Google requires that any GSO-related services need to be redeemed by November 30, 2021.
Is this only for K-12 or also for Higher Ed?
For 2021, this offer is available to K-12 schools, districts, consortia*, and Higher Education organizations in the US and Canada. Please note that there are different thresholds and requirements for K-12 and Higher Education organizations (see our answer about minimum thresholds for details on this).
*For the purposes of this promotion, Google defines a consortia as an entity (Association, Dioceses, etc.) that may combine member school purchases for joint qualification of services
Can I do multiple submissions for multiple purchases?
Google will allow you to submit twice during the promotional period – once for Chromebook purchases and once for Google Workspace for Education Plus licenses.
We are GSO experts and we can help you maximize the credits you can qualify for with a GSO insight call. We’ll review your plans and make suggestions. The key is to coordinate your purchases within a 60-day window. Here are the guidelines that Google has established for 2021:
Only one “order” of Chromebooks + Chrome Education Upgrades per year is eligible for the promotion. An “order” is defined as all purchases of Chromebooks and Chrome Education Upgrades by your district/school/organization within a 60-day window during the promotion period.
Only one “order” of Google Workspace for Education Plus licenses is eligible for the promotion. An “order” is defined as all purchases of Google Workspace for Education Plus licenses within a 60-day window during the promotion period.
Again, schedule time to review your purchasing plans for 2021, and we’ll help you maximize your possible credits. No one knows GSO better than Amplified IT.
Can I use it towards 3rd party tools?
You can redeem your GSO credits toward most of Amplified IT’s products and services. You cannot redeem your credits to purchase non-Amplified IT products and services. Not sure if a product or service can be redeemed? Just ask or review our GSO services catalog. We are GSO experts and we can guide you.
With the new Google Workspace for Education editions, does the GSO qualify for all paid editions or only Education Plus?
Google Services Offer only applies to the purchase of Google Workspace for Education Plus.
Because of supply constraints, we ordered Chromebooks early – will those purchases qualify?
We understand the Chromebook supply challenges organizations have experienced. For Chromebooks and Chrome Education Upgrades, purchases must be done within a 60-day window. We recommend you schedule a call with us. We can review the specifics of your purchasing situation and guide you on what might be eligible for this promotion.
Do all of the credits need to be redeemed in 2021?
Google will award credits from now until September 30, 2021 (or while supplies last). Google requires that any GSO-related services be redeemed by November 30, 2021.
